The Reluctant Author
I am the reluctant author of One Idea to Rule Them All: Reverse Engineering American Propaganda. After all, I told myself and God- who in their right mind is going to read a book about propaganda written by a physical therapist?
My purpose on substack is to help others see the evolution of American propaganda and to recognize the patterns so that you, your family and friends can better read between the lines to protect health, financies and food sources. Not one of us is safe alone.
I am interested in creating a space where we can learn the lessons of history and take stock of the real dangers our own countrymen tried to warns us of along the way; addressing real problems, not the phony ones the wolves are constantly churning out.
There are plenty of competent people discussing current events and trying to parse the tea leaves. I am not interested in running after the tail wagging the dog on a daily basis. I poke my head in to hear the main narratives and pick up what I consider the breadcrumbs to follow the real trail. But most of my work is following history, human nature and divine guidence.
1. Ironically, Learning to See Requires Us to Hear Better
As a visually dominent culture we are quickly losing the ability to hear, to listen to the voice of conscience, to tap into to something or someone beyond us that does know the way. I’ll be posting along this line as inspiration strikes.
2. Truth-Seekers Welcome One and All
Facing the truth is hard work. When the pain and the struggle is behind us, vistas open before our eyes in ways we never imagined. Sunshine and lollipops? Not so much. Buckle up because the truth of our current situation is grim but not hopeless.
3. Get Real Moment
Language has been weaponized, humans turned into objects to be controlled. We must grant dignity once again to other people and select authentic words with which to communicate. This takes time and is messy. Let’s dive in.
4. Ideas Have the Power of Seeds- Release Them
I welcome the interaction with wonderful people who I’ve not yet had the chance to meet. Let’s reason and relect together.
